ELECTORAL LITERACY CLUB

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of St. Antony’s College serves as a vibrant platform to engage students in understanding and participating in the democratic process. The club conducts interactive sessions and hands-on activities to educate students about their electoral rights, voter registration, and the voting process, fostering informed, responsible, and ethical future voters.

Objectives

  1. To educate students about voter registration, the electoral process, and related matters through practical exposure.
  2. To provide EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) and VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) familiarization, ensuring awareness about the reliability and integrity of the voting process.
  3. To help students understand the value of their vote and exercise their franchise in an informed, confident, and ethical manner.
  4. To encourage members to spread electoral literacy within their communities.
  5. To facilitate voter registration for eligible but unregistered students.
  6. To develop a culture of informed and ethical electoral participation, upholding the principles “Every Vote Counts” and “No Voter to be Left Behind.”
